Cremated remains

Cremated remains

When considering the final resting place of cremated remains, you should ask yourself:
  • Do I wish to have them scattered or interred?
  • Is there a grave that I wish to use? For example, the resting place of a family member?
  • Is it important to have the deceased’s final resting place close to their home?
  • Will I want a memorial of some sort for loved ones to visit?
  • Do I want there to be a grave to visit, and if so, how far will I want to travel to visit a grave?

Ashes can be buried either in a new ashes grave or in a family plot. You can choose from a small plot or a full-size grave, and a traditional cemetery or a natural burial ground. Alternatively, ashes can be scattered in a churchyard or cemetery with permission, or by family member or loved ones in another location.
