The day of the funeral

The day of the funeral

The funeral procession will traditionally begin at the home of the deceased, though they can go directly from our funeral home to the service, with mourners travelling separately and meeting there.

If you have decided to have family member and friends bear the coffin, this will be organised by our funeral director. If not, our pallbearers will carry the coffin into the place where the service is being conducted.

For burials, the coffin will be carried into the service venue for the duration of the service, then to the place of burial, where it will be lowered into the grave. For cremations, the coffin will be carried in to the crematorium, where it will remain until the service is completed.

Cards can be collected from the floral tributes if you require, or remain with them. If you wish to take any of the floral tributes home, we can ensure they are brought to you.

If you have any special requests for the funeral, please make them known to us. We will do everything we can to make sure that the service proceeds exactly as you wish.
